This talk is titled "The importance of student participation in the struggle for user freedom in society," and was presented at LibrePlanet 2022 by Kaio Duarte Costa.

Kaio is hacker-activist, student, and student representative. Kaio's roles include, among others, substitute member of the permanent state forum on education and member of the public committee of the national association of data privacy professionals.

This talk is about how user freedom is directly linked to a free education. Student mobilization and struggle for more freedom in the classroom -- especially after the pandemic -- show how the school community must move to show the dangers and disadvantages of surveillance inside and outside the classroom.
